Autumn on the Gold Coast

Many of us who reside on the Gold Coast believe Autumn to be the pick time of the year. The days and water temperature is still warm, nights are slightly cool and the mornings and sunrises are stunning. There is also fewer crowds and the humidity is easing, what’s not to love!!!

Here are a few of the reasons and recommendations as to why you should head to the GC this Autumn.

Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival – There is a great festival line up over Autumn and one of our favourites is Blues On Broadbeach. This festival just seems to get better and better each year, with the line up sure to impress. Mark the date May 19-22 and check out their website for the full and comprehensive line up. https://bluesonbroadbeach.com/lineup/

Tweed heads Twilight Market – A great way to kick off your weekend, this market has something for everyone. Live music, street food and artesian stalls all set against the waterfront backdrop of Jack Evans Boat harbour. A great family friendly market with a relaxed vibe sure to suit all ages.

Border Hopping  – With the borders well and truly open there’s so much on offer just over the border. An easy 20-30 minute drive from the Southern Gold Coast, head down to the Tweed Coast and discover great food, boutique breweries and unique shopping precincts. Just over the border is the small township of Cudgen, here you will find the boutique brewery ‘Earth Beer Company’ – think crafted, quality beer with distinctly local flavours all served up in a pristine setting overlooking an old Avocado farm. After enjoying a quiet Ale – head to Kingscliff for some shopping, a stroll along on the beachfront boardwalk and a coffee and something sweet at one of the many quality coffee shops.

Sunrise / Sunset beach walks – The sunsets at this time of year are not to be missed. The most magical way to begin or end your day the colours are mesmerising on a clear day. Many locals still love a morning swim, whilst the water temperature has dropped slightly it sure is a beautiful way to start the day if brave enough.
