Holiday activities that won’t break the bank

Holidays can be expensive.  Food, accommodation, airfares, car hire, there is often not much left over for activities. But if you tire of the beach (if that is actually possible) or need something to do on wet weather day that won’t break the bank, we have compiled a useful list,  for all types of activities and ages, there is something for everyone.

  • For an activity that will suit the whole family you can’t go past the iconic, longstanding attraction of “ Putt Putt Golf mermaid beach” . A world of fun with three themed mini gold courses, test your skill in the sometimes challenging, always fun mini golf course.

  • Another budget friendly option a trip to Currumbin Creek and hire a SUP board for two hours, for $20. A stunning waterway it’s a great way to spend a morning or an afternoon and the kids will love cruising up and down the creek.

  • The Currumbin Rockpools – just a short 15 minute drive inland from Currumbin you’ll find these picturesque rockpools. A children’s wonderland complete with varying ledges of varying heights there is a spot for everyone. It can get busy on hot days in the peak of Summer so be ready for a crowd, but find yourself a rock and relax, it’s a great way to spend a few hours. Continue another five minutes along Currumbin Creek Road and you’ll reach the Mount Cougal section of Springbrook National Park where an 800 metre walking trail leads to cascading waterfalls, rock pools and an historic bush sawmill.

  • Farm and Co – at Cudgen Northern NSW, Take A short drive south just over the border and you will find Farm and Co. A sustainable working farm and café, set in idyliic surrounds. Come for a coffee, breakfast or lunch and then take a stroll around the farm. Highlights include the Sunflower farm, the pigs and cows. A beautiful place to connect and immerse yourself in nature. Entry to the farm is $5. Stroll the farm surrounds, wander the Sunflower fields , crack some nuts in the Macadamia orchard,  or pat and get up close and personal with some of our farm friends, and more.
