There are so many easy day trips within close proximity to the Southern Gold Coast. Read on to find some of the closest options that are sure to provide you with an immersive and soulful natural experience, all close to the Southern Gold Coast.
- PURLINGBROOK FALLS
Take the stunning 4 km walk through Gondwana and Eucalypt forests and marvel at teeming with wildlife and historic and ancient trees. Located within the Gondwana Rainforest in the Springbrook National Park there are also other waterfalls including the Natural Arch and the Twin Falls. The trail to the base of the falls is 4 km, after a short 500 mtrs of hiking

- CURTIS FALLS
Take the scenic drive up to Mt Tamborine and feel yourself relax as you wind further up the mountain. The mountain is home to numerous bushwalks as well as coffee shops, art galleries and boutique shopping. The Curtis Falls bush walk is perfect for all levels of walking ability and the beautiful waterfall is not far from the beginning of the track.
- COOK ISLAND
Get up close and personal with nature and swim with the turtles at Cook Island – 1km off the Fingal Headland in Northern NSW. Home to a permanent population of Green, Hawksbill and Loggerhead turtles. From June to November you may also see some humpback whales on their annual migration.
- OCEAN VIEW WALK BURLEIGH HEADS
One of the best walks on the Gold Coast and perfect for all levels of fitness the Ocean View walk in Burleigh Heads will not disappoint. It’s hard to believe it is just a hop skip and jump from the hustle and bustle of Burleigh Heads. The views are breath taking and there are plenty of stops to stop and take it all in .
- O’REILLYS TREETOP WALK ATTRACTION
Stroll through the rainforest 15mtrs above the canopy. Observe wildlife, and marvel at the historic trees from high above. 180 metres in length and made up of 9 suspension bridges, the walk is one of a kind for our region and an easy drive from the Southern Gold Coast.
